Scripture: “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” — Philippians 2:4 (ESV)
Devotional
Exceptional service often comes from anticipation. The best developers don’t just react to needs—they anticipate them.
Philippians 2:4 calls you to consider the interests of others. In your work, this means thinking ahead:
What will tenants need once the project is complete?
What challenges might arise during construction?
What concerns might stakeholders have before they voice them?
Anticipation requires intentionality. It means stepping outside your own perspective and considering the experience of others.
When you anticipate needs, you create smoother processes, stronger relationships, and better outcomes. More importantly, you demonstrate care.
Jesus often met needs before they were spoken. He saw what others missed. He acted with compassion and foresight.
As a developer, you have the opportunity to do the same—creating environments and experiences that reflect thoughtful, servant-hearted leadership.
Reflection Questions:
Where can I better anticipate the needs of others?
What perspective am I missing that could improve my decisions?
How can I be more proactive in serving others?
Prayer
Father, help me see what others need before they ask. Give me wisdom and awareness to serve proactively and reflect Your care in my work. Amen.
