Scripture: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
Devotional
When you look back over your career as a real estate developer, it may appear shaped by education, relationships, market cycles, and opportunity. Yet Scripture reveals a deeper and more personal reality: your work began not with your first deal, but with God’s design.
Ephesians 2:10 reminds you that long before you chose this profession, God prepared meaningful work for you to walk in. Your calling was not accidental—it was intentional.
This truth reframes how you see your vocation. You are not merely responding to circumstances or chasing opportunity; you are stepping into work God already had in mind.
The skills you possess, the experiences you’ve gained, and even the challenges you’ve endured have been shaping you for this role. Delays, failures, and unexpected detours were not wasted seasons—they were forming discernment, humility, and perseverance.
Understanding your calling brings clarity to identity. You are not defined by the size of your portfolio or the success of a project. You are God’s workmanship first, a developer second. That order matters. When identity is rooted in Christ, success no longer inflates pride, and setbacks no longer destroy confidence.
Calling also brings responsibility. God prepares the work, but He invites you to walk in it faithfully. Each decision becomes an opportunity to respond in obedience rather than fear or ambition. When you trust that God prepared this path, you can move forward with confidence—one faithful step at a time.
Reflection Questions:
Do I believe God intentionally prepared me for this work?
How have past challenges shaped my character for today?
Where is God inviting me to walk in obedience right now?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for calling me before I ever chose this profession. Help me trust that You have prepared my work with purpose. Anchor my identity in You as I walk faithfully in what You’ve set before me. Amen.
This devotional is designed to encourage you as you live out your faith in the workplace. It works best when paired with regular time in Scripture, prayer, and worship—the rhythms through which we grow to know Christ more deeply and become more like Him.
