Scripture: Genesis 2:15 — “…to work it and keep it.”
Devotional
God placed Adam in the garden to cultivate and keep it. That means work is more than completing tasks—it’s nurturing, improving, developing, and protecting what God entrusts to you. You are not merely a worker; you are a cultivator.
Every job offers opportunities to cultivate something:
A healthier workplace culture
Better systems or processes
Encouragement in a teammate
Beauty in your environment
Excellence in your craft
Trust in your relationships
Wisdom in someone you mentor
Cultivation requires intention. It means leaving things better than you found them. It means stewarding people and responsibilities with care.
Your workplace is a garden entrusted to you. God has planted you there for a reason—to bring life, growth, and blessing.
Reflection Questions:
What has God entrusted to you that needs cultivating?
Which relationships, projects, or spaces can you help flourish today?
What one small action can you take to “leave it better than you found it”?
Prayer
Father, teach me to cultivate well. Help me care for the people, responsibilities, and opportunities You’ve placed in my hands. Let my work bring growth and life. Amen.
