Scripture: “Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2 (ESV)
Devotional
Some developers are known for spectacle—high-profile projects, showy openings, bold claims. While there’s nothing wrong with vision or beauty, Scripture calls us to something deeper: faithfulness. Not flash, but follow-through. Not headlines, but quiet obedience. 1 Corinthians 4:2 reminds us that God isn’t looking for fame—He’s looking for faithfulness.
Faithfulness shows up in the slow grind—managing timelines, honoring contracts, treating team members with respect. It shows up when you keep building in seasons of obscurity, loss, or waiting. It shows up when you do the right thing without applause.
Don’t be discouraged if others get more attention. God’s reward system is not like the world’s. He values the unseen sacrifices, the hard conversations, the delayed gratification. He sees when you turn down a questionable opportunity. He sees when you bless someone who can’t repay you.
Flash fades. Faithfulness endures. The world may not notice your quiet consistency—but heaven does. And the foundation you’re laying will stand long after the lights go out.
Reflection Questions:
Am I more focused on being impressive or being faithful?
Where has God called me to keep building in obscurity?
What would it look like to trade recognition for obedience today?
Prayer
God, I want to be found faithful. Help me resist the pull of self-promotion. Let my work reflect Your steadfast love, and my life reflect quiet obedience. Amen.
