Scripture: “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.” — 1 Peter 2:17 (NIV)
Devotional
Every interaction in your work is an opportunity to honor others. Whether it’s a contractor, city official, investor, tenant, or employee—each person you engage with carries dignity as someone created in God’s image.
In a fast-paced industry, people can easily become transactional—means to an end. But Scripture calls you to something different: to treat every person with respect and honor.
Honoring others means:
Listening fully instead of rushing conversations
Valuing input, even when you disagree
Communicating with clarity and respect
Following through on commitments
When people feel respected, trust is built. And trust is one of the most valuable currencies in your business.
More importantly, honoring others reflects the heart of Christ. He consistently valued people, regardless of their status or role. As His follower, your work becomes a platform to do the same.
Reflection Questions:
Do people feel valued after interacting with me?
Where can I improve in showing respect or appreciation?
How can I honor someone today in a tangible way?
Prayer
Father, help me treat every person with honor and respect. Let my words and actions reflect Your love and dignity for others. Amen.
