Hope When You Feel Stuck [TDPOW #70]

Scripture: Romans 15:13 — “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing…”

Devotional:

Feeling stuck at work—no advancement, no change in sight, no clarity about the future—can drain your motivation. You may wonder if anything will ever shift, or if you’ll be in the same place forever. In those seasons, hopelessness whispers, Nothing will ever change.

But God is the “God of hope.” His ability to work is not limited by your current

circumstances. He can open doors you never saw coming, use this season to prepare you for the next, or transform your heart even if your job doesn’t change. Hope is not blind optimism; it is confidence in God’s character.

While you wait, you are not wasting time. Faithfulness in “stuck” seasons is precious to God. He sees your perseverance, hears your prayers, and weaves your present into a bigger story than you can see. Your job may feel static, but God is not standing still.

Reflection Questions:

1. In what ways do you feel stuck in your current work situation?

2. How can you anchor your hope in God’s character rather than in immediate change?

3. What does faithfulness look like today, even while you wait?

Prayer

God of hope, meet me in the places where I feel stuck. Fill me with joy and peace as I trust in You. Help me be faithful in this season and confident that You are at work, even when I can’t see it. Amen.
