Scripture: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” — James 4:6 (ESV)
Devotional
Success in real estate can come quickly—multiple closings, new listings, referrals, recognition, or awards. These blessings are worth celebrating, but success can also tempt your heart toward pride, self-reliance, or identity rooted in achievement.
Humility is the antidote.
Humility doesn’t downplay success; it directs credit to the One who gave the opportunity. It acknowledges that skill, timing, favor, and opportunity are gifts from God. Humility remembers that every client is a blessing and every closing is grace.
A humble broker is approachable, teachable, and grounded. They celebrate wins but don’t boast. They help others without feeling threatened. They lift others up rather than compete for attention.
God gives grace to the humble—grace for favor, grace for opportunity, grace for continued influence. Success handled with humility becomes a testimony rather than a temptation.
Reflection Questions:
· How do I respond internally to success—pride or gratitude?
· Do I give God credit for the opportunities He provides?
· How can I practice humility today?
Prayer
Lord, keep my heart humble in seasons of success. Remind me that every blessing comes from You. Help me use influence to serve, not to elevate myself. Amen.
