Scripture: “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time…” — Ephesians 5:15–16 (ESV)
Devotional
Time is one of your most limited assets. Clients expect responsiveness, colleagues rely on collaboration, and your family needs your presence. Yet time integrity is often overlooked. Saying you’ll call back and never doing it, chronically running late, or overpromising your availability erodes trust just as much as financial dishonesty.
You may not think of time management as a spiritual issue, but Scripture does. “Make the best use of the time,” Paul writes—because how you handle your time reveals what you value. When you consistently honor appointments, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively when things change, you show respect for others and reflect God’s orderliness.
Of course, unexpected issues arise in commercial real estate. But even then, integrity shows up in how quickly you communicate, how clearly you reset expectations, and how honestly you acknowledge your limits. You don’t have to do everything—but you should be truthful about what you can do and when.
Reflection Questions:
· Where do I tend to be most careless with time commitments or follow-through?
· What simple changes could help my calendar better reflect integrity and respect?
Prayer
Father, teach me to number my days and steward my hours well. Help me align my schedule with Your priorities and honor others through reliable time commitments. Amen.
