Serving People Through Development [Real Estate Dev #79]

Serving People Through Development [Real Estate Dev #79]

Scripture: “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” — Philippians 2:4

Devotional

It’s easy to view development primarily through the lens of projects, returns, and performance. But behind every development are people—families, employees, tenants, and communities whose lives will be impacted by what you build.

God has entrusted you not just with land and capital, but with influence. The spaces you create shape how people live, work, and connect. That influence carries responsibility.

A Kingdom-minded developer looks beyond the numbers and asks deeper questions:

  • Will this project serve people well?

  • Will it contribute to the flourishing of the community?

  • Will it reflect integrity and care in how it’s executed?

When you prioritize people over profit, your work takes on eternal significance. You begin to see development not just as construction, but as service.

You are not just building projects—you are shaping environments that impact lives.

Reflection Questions:

  • Do I view my projects primarily through profit or people?

  • How does my work impact the communities I serve?

  • Where can I be more intentional about serving others?

Action Step: Identify one way your current or upcoming project can better serve the people or community it will impact.

Prayer

Father, help me to see people at the center of my work. Guide me to build in ways that serve others and reflect Your love and care. Amen.
