Serving Through Humility in Success [Real Estate Dev #87]

Serving Through Humility in Success [Real Estate Dev #87]

Scripture

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” — James 4:10

Devotional

Success in development can be visible—completed projects, profitable deals, recognition from peers. While success is not wrong, it carries a subtle risk: pride.

Serving others with excellence requires humility, especially in moments of success.

Humility reminds you that your achievements are not yours alone. They are the result of God’s provision, the contributions of others, and opportunities you did not create yourself.

When you remain humble, you continue to serve rather than elevate yourself. You recognize the efforts of your team. You remain open to learning. You avoid the trap of believing you’ve “arrived.”

Humility also keeps your heart aligned with God. It allows Him to continue shaping you and using you.

Success can either expand your influence for good or isolate you through pride. The difference is humility.

When you walk humbly, your leadership becomes more approachable, your relationships stronger, and your impact greater.

Reflection Questions

  • Do I give credit to others and to God?

  • Where might pride be subtly influencing my perspective?
