Stewarding Your Influence [TDPOW #88]

Stewarding Your Influence [TDPOW #88]

Scripture: Matthew 5:14 — “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Devotional

Influence is more than a job title. You influence others through your words, your attitude, your example, and your decisions. God has placed you where you are—not just to complete tasks, but to shine as light. That light is not meant to be hidden under fear, apathy, or busyness.

Stewarding influence means being intentional about the impact you have. It might look like speaking up when something is wrong, encouraging someone who’s discouraged, modeling integrity in grey areas, or setting a tone of kindness in stressful environments. People are watching more than you realize.

You don’t have to be loud or forceful to be influential. Often, the most powerful witness comes from steady, consistent faithfulness over time. As you walk with Christ at work, your influence becomes a channel through which others can glimpse Him.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Whom do you influence at work—formally or informally?

  2. What messages does your life at work currently communicate about what you value?

  3. How can you intentionally use your influence to reflect Christ this week?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the influence You’ve given me, great or small. Help me steward it wisely. Let my words, example, and decisions point people toward You, not just toward me. Amen.
