Scripture: “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)
Devotional
In a competitive industry, it’s tempting to appear all-knowing—to pretend expertise, overstate experience, or hide your limitations. But pretending to know more than you do can lead to misinformation, mistakes, and broken trust.
Integrity means admitting what you don’t know and seeking help when needed.
When you say, “I’m not sure, but I’ll find out,” you show humility and maturity. When you reach out to a mentor, an inspector, or a lender for clarity, you demonstrate wisdom. Clients appreciate honesty far more than bravado.
Your limitations are not weaknesses—they are invitations for God’s grace to shine. When you acknowledge what you lack, you create space for growth, collaboration, and spiritual dependence.
Let honesty—not ego—shape your expertise.
Reflection Questions:
· Where am I tempted to pretend I know more than I do?
· What would humility look like in that area?
· Who can I learn from or seek clarity from today?
Prayer
Lord, help me embrace humility and admit my limitations. Strengthen me to seek help and rely on Your grace rather than my pride. Amen.
