Scripture: “Everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.” — James 1:19 (ESV)
Devotional
Integrity is not just about what you say—it’s also about what you choose not to say. In real estate, you’ll encounter rude agents, demanding clients, stressful delays, and moments where your emotions want to lead.
Holy restraint means you pause before reacting.
It means you choose silence over sarcasm. It means you slow your words when frustrated. It means you let the Spirit temper your response before you speak.
This restraint is a powerful form of integrity. It shows that Christ—not emotion—governs your reactions. It prevents conflict, de-escalates tension, and protects relationships. It also models spiritual maturity in an industry where impulsive reactions are common.
Let today be a day where restraint becomes a testimony.
Reflection Questions:
· Where do I struggle with emotional reactions?
· What situation today requires restraint more than a response?
· How can I slow down my speech to honor God?
Prayer
Holy Spirit, give me strength to practice restraint. Make me quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Govern my emotions with Your peace. Amen.
