Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3:5 — “Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.”
Devotional
Leadership and responsibility can be heavy—managing teams, making decisions, carrying financial weight, or caring for those under your supervision. You may feel the pressure to have all the answers and to never show weakness. The burden can feel crushing.
God reminds you that your sufficiency is not in yourself. You were never meant to carry leadership alone. Your wisdom, strength, and capacity are limited—but His are not. When you acknowledge your dependence, you open the door for His help, guidance, and power.
Leading “in Christ” means leading with humility, prayer, and reliance on God’s Word. It means making decisions with a listening ear—toward God and toward others. Your role is important, but you are not the Savior of your organization or team. That job is already taken.
Reflection Questions:
What responsibilities at work feel especially heavy right now?
How have you tried to carry those burdens in your own strength?
What would it look like to practically lean on God’s sufficiency in your leadership or responsibilities?
Prayer
Lord, You know the weight I carry in my role. I confess I am not sufficient in myself. Be my wisdom, strength, and sufficiency. Help me lead and serve in dependence on You, not in my own power. Amen.
