Day 2 - Created in God’s Image

Scripture:

Genesis 1:27 — “So God created man in His own image… male and female He created them.”

Devotional

Humans are the only part of creation made in God’s image. That means your work—done as His image-bearer—reflects something divine. God works: He creates, orders, cultivates, builds, restores, and blesses. Because you bear His image, you are created to work in similar ways: to create beauty, solve problems, bring order out of chaos, and serve others through what you do.
This gives profound dignity to every legitimate vocation. Building a home, teaching a student, coding a system, caring for children, repairing equipment, preparing a meal, counseling a client—all of these reflect aspects of God’s character. When you work with excellence, integrity, and creativity, you show the world what God is like.
You are not defined by your job title but by the God who made you. Your identity begins with Him, not your role, income, or status. Work becomes meaningful not because of what you produce but because of the One you reflect.

Reflection Questions:

1. How does being made in God’s image shape the way you view your abilities and gifts?
2. What aspects of your work reflect God’s character—creativity, order, service, compassion, or wisdom?
3. Where do you struggle to remember your identity in Christ rather than in your accomplishments?

Prayer

Father, thank You for creating me in Your image. Let my work today reflect Your character and bring honor to Your name. Shape my identity in You, not in what I achieve. Amen.
