One of the most valuable gifts you can offer people is your presence.
Many financial conversations occur during significant life events. Clients may come to you after the loss of a loved one, during a major career transition, following a business sale, or while preparing for retirement.
These moments involve more than financial decisions.
They involve emotions, relationships, uncertainty, and change.
In such situations, people often need more than expertise. They need someone willing to walk alongside them.
The ministry of presence means being fully engaged. It means listening carefully, showing compassion, and demonstrating genuine care.
Jesus consistently practiced this ministry. He entered people's struggles. He listened. He cared. He remained present.
As a financial advisor, you have opportunities to do the same.
Sometimes your greatest contribution is not a recommendation or a solution. Sometimes it is simply your willingness to be present during an important season of someone's life.
People may forget specific details of a conversation.
But they rarely forget how someone made them feel.
When you offer the gift of presence, you reflect the heart of Christ.

• How present am I during client conversations?
• Do I listen carefully to both facts and emotions?
• How can I demonstrate greater compassion in my relationships?
Action Step
During your next meeting, focus on listening more than speaking and give the other person your full attention.
Prayer
Lord, help me be fully present with those I serve. Give me a compassionate heart and attentive spirit that reflects Your love and care. Amen.
