Scripture: “So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.” — Romans 14:12 (ESV)
Devotional
In your work, you are accountable to many people—managers, clients, regulators, and colleagues. But above all, you are accountable to God.
This truth brings both weight and clarity.
It means that your decisions are not ultimately evaluated by performance reviews or external success. They are evaluated by your faithfulness, integrity, and obedience to God.
This perspective changes how you approach your work. It shifts your focus from external approval to internal alignment with God’s will.
It also brings consistency. When your accountability is rooted in God, your standards don’t change based on who is watching. You remain steady—because your ultimate audience never changes.
Living with this awareness guards your integrity. It strengthens your convictions. It helps you navigate complex situations with clarity.
Today, remember that your work is seen by God—not just in outcomes, but in motives, decisions, and actions.
Live accordingly.
Reflection Questions:
• Do I live with an awareness of accountability before God?
• How does this perspective influence my decisions?
• Where might I be more concerned with people’s approval than God’s?
Action Step: Before making a decision today, pause and ask: “Would I make this same choice if I were standing before God?”
Prayer
Father, remind me that I am accountable to You. Guide my decisions and align my heart with Your will. Help me to live and work with integrity before You. Amen.
