Scripture: “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.” — Proverbs 28:13 (ESV)
Devotional
Mistakes happen. Even with training, experience, and care, errors can occur in healthcare.
What matters most is how you respond.
There can be a strong temptation to hide mistakes, minimize them, or shift responsibility. Fear of consequences, embarrassment, or judgment can make honesty difficult.
But integrity requires transparency.
Admitting a mistake takes humility and courage. It protects patients, builds trust, and reflects a commitment to truth.
God does not call you to perfection—He calls you to honesty.
When you acknowledge mistakes, you create an opportunity for correction, growth, and accountability. You also model a culture of integrity for those around you.
Grace is found in honesty, not in concealment.
Choose humility when mistakes happen.
Reflection Questions:
• How do you typically respond when you make a mistake?
• What would it look like to respond with greater humility and honesty?
Action Step: If you make a mistake today, address it promptly and honestly rather than avoiding it.
Prayer
Lord, give me humility to acknowledge my mistakes and courage to respond with honesty. Help me to grow through them. Amen.
