Scripture: “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.” — Proverbs 28:6
Devotional
There are moments in financial advising when you’ll face quiet forks in the road—decisions that test whether your advice will align with your convictions. Perhaps it’s a commission-heavy product that isn’t truly best for the client. Or a tax shelter that skirts ethical lines. Or an easy shortcut that avoids disclosure.
Proverbs reminds us that integrity is more valuable than profit. It is possible to be financially successful and spiritually bankrupt. But the advisor who walks in integrity—who tells the truth even when it costs, who puts the client above the bottom line—builds something eternal.
God honors integrity. And clients notice it too. You may lose a sale today but gain a reputation that brings blessing tomorrow. Never trade long-term faithfulness for short-term gain.
Reflection Questions:
Have you ever faced tension between what is profitable and what is truly right?
What helps you stay grounded in integrity when others cut corners?
Are there areas where you need to recommit to full honesty in your practice?
Prayer
God, keep my heart clean and my conscience clear. Help me align my advice with truth and integrity, even when it’s costly. Let my reputation point others toward You.
