Devotional
Work often comes with goals—sales targets, project milestones, performance metrics, career ambitions. Goals can be good; they give focus and direction. But if they sit at the center of your life, they can quickly become idols that drive anxiety and compromise.
Jesus calls you to a different order: seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. That doesn’t mean you abandon professional goals; it means you submit them. You ask, “How does this goal fit with God’s priorities? Will pursuing it help me honor Him, love others, and grow in Christlikeness—or pull me away?”
When the Kingdom is first, your goals become tools, not masters. You can work hard, plan well, and pursue excellence without losing your soul. And you can trust that as you put God’s purposes at the center, He knows how to provide what you truly need.

How well do those goals align with God’s Kingdom priorities?
What adjustment—large or small—might you need to make to seek His Kingdom first?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for giving purpose and direction to my work. Help me seek Your Kingdom and righteousness above every other goal. Align my ambitions with Your heart, and order my steps for Your glory. Amen.
