Avoiding the Comparison Trap [Residential Broker #85]

Avoiding the Comparison Trap [Residential Broker #85]

Scripture: “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” — Hebrews 12:1 (ESV)

Devotional

Comparison is one of the most common integrity traps in real estate. You see other agents’ production numbers, awards, marketing styles, social media presence, and apparent success—and suddenly your own progress feels inadequate.

Comparison leads to envy, insecurity, burnout, and compromised motives. It distracts you from your race and tempts you to pursue goals God never assigned to you.

Scripture calls you to run your race—not anyone else’s. God has given you a unique calling, unique clients, unique seasons, and unique opportunities. Someone else’s highlight reel is not your assignment.

Integrity means staying faithful to your path, your pace, and God’s purpose for you. When you stop competing with others, you can fully embrace the race God set before you—one marked by joy, peace, and purpose.

Stay in your lane. God is writing a story that is uniquely yours.

Reflection Questions:

·       Where am I most tempted to compare myself to others?

·       How does comparison affect my integrity and peace?

·       What truth from Scripture helps me stay focused on my own race?

Prayer

Lord, free me from comparison. Help me run the race You set before me with faithfulness and joy. Keep my eyes on You, not on others. Amen.
