2 Corinthians 5:20 — “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us.”
Devotional
If your coworkers know you are a Christian, they will associate their view of Christ—fairly or unfairly—with how you live and work. You are an ambassador, representing Him in your workplace. This is both a sober responsibility and a beautiful privilege.
Being an ambassador doesn’t mean you’re perfect. It means you take seriously how your integrity, speech, work ethic, and relationships reflect on the One you represent. When you admit mistakes, treat people with respect, respond to stress with prayerful steadiness, and extend grace, you give others a glimpse of Him.
You may never preach a sermon at work, but your life is a message. As God makes His appeal through you, you can trust the Holy Spirit to use your imperfect but surrendered witness to draw others toward Christ.
Reflection Questions
If your coworkers were asked what your faith is like based on your life, what might they say?
Are there areas where your witness at work is inconsistent with the Christ you represent?
How can you consciously step into your role as an ambassador today—in one specific relationship or situation?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me to be Your ambassador. Help me bear Your name well in my workplace. Let my words, work, and relationships reflect Your character, and use my imperfect witness to draw others to You. Amen.
