Beginning Each Day with God [Healthcare Professional #121]

Scripture

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." — Matthew 6:33.

Devotional

The pace of healthcare often begins long before the workday officially starts. Your mind may already be thinking about patients, schedules, procedures, meetings, or responsibilities before you even walk through the doors. While preparation is important, there is one priority that should come before everything else—seeking God.

Jesus often began His day by spending time alone with His Father. Before teaching crowds, healing the sick, or making important decisions, He intentionally withdrew to pray. If the Son of God depended on time with His Father, how much more should we?

Beginning your day with God changes your perspective before the pressures of work begin. Instead of entering your workplace carrying only your own strength, you enter knowing that the Lord goes before you. His wisdom can guide your decisions, His peace can steady your emotions, and His love can shape every interaction you have throughout the day.

Even if your mornings are busy, make it your priority to spend a few moments reading Scripture and talking with God. Those few minutes can influence everything that follows. Before you care for others today, allow your Heavenly Father to care for you.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me seek You before I face the demands of each day. Fill my heart with Your peace, guide my decisions with Your wisdom, and remind me that I never serve alone. May my time with You prepare me to faithfully care for those You place in my path. Amen.
