Building Bridges Across Departments [TDPOW #187]

1 Corinthians 1:10 — “…that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.”

Many organizations are divided into “silos”—departments that rarely communicate, misunderstand each other, or compete for resources. These divisions can create suspicion and frustration: “They don’t understand what we do,” or, “They always make our job harder.”
As a follower of Christ, you are called to be a bridge-builder, not a wall-builder. You can seek understanding by asking questions, listening to other teams’ pressures, and seeing the whole picture rather than just your piece. Instead of assuming bad motives, you can assume many people are doing their best under real constraints.
Bridge-building might look like inviting another department into planning earlier, clarifying expectations, or simply expressing appreciation for their work. When you model honor and collaboration across “silos,” you help your organization move toward unity of purpose—and you reflect the God who reconciles.

What is one step you could take to build a bridge—initiating a conversation, asking questions, or offering help?
Prayer
Lord, You are a God of unity, not division. Show me where I can help build bridges across departments and teams. Give me humility, curiosity, and courage to pursue understanding and cooperation for the good of all. Amen.
