Scripture: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23 (ESV)
Devotional
Your sales career is not an accident or a backup plan. Scripture teaches that work itself is part of God’s good design—woven into creation, purpose, and mission. In sales, you engage with people daily, identify needs, provide solutions, and influence decisions. These are not merely business functions—they are opportunities to reflect Christ through service, integrity, and excellence.
Many believers struggle to see their sales job as “spiritual” because it doesn’t look like traditional ministry. But God sees no divide between sacred and secular work. He calls you to serve Him wholeheartedly wherever He has placed you. That includes every sales call, negotiation, presentation, follow-up email, and relationship you steward.
Your true “Boss” is the Lord. When you work for Him, pressure decreases and purpose increases. Performance becomes worship. Goals become stewardship. Clients become image-bearers of God rather than transactions to close.
Starting today, embrace your sales role as a divine calling. You are not just employed—you are sent.
Reflection Questions
· Do I view my role in sales as a calling from God or simply a job?
· How would my daily approach change if I consciously worked “unto the Lord”?
· What aspects of my job provide opportunities to reflect Christ?
Prayer
Lord, help me see my work the way You see it—purposeful, valuable, and part of Your design. Teach me to work for Your glory, not human approval. Strengthen my heart to serve with excellence, integrity, and joy. Amen
