Scripture: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23 (ESV)
Devotional
Your work in residential real estate is not an accident—it is an assignment. Before you ever held your first open house, met your first client, or joined your first brokerage, God saw your gifts and prepared a place for you to serve Him through this profession. Real estate is one of the most relational industries in the world. You enter people’s homes, their stories, their transitions, and their fears. You help guide families through some of the most emotional decisions they will ever make. That is not just work—that is ministry.
Colossians 3:23 reminds you that every contract, showing, and conversation becomes worship when done “as unto the Lord.” You are not driven by sales metrics but by stewardship. You are not defined by market shifts but by your identity in Christ. You are not simply closing deals; you are serving people God loves.
When you approach real estate as calling, everything changes. The pressures don’t disappear, but they gain perspective. The frustrations don’t vanish, but they no longer define your worth. You work with purpose, direction, and peace—because you know who sent you.
Reflection Questions:
· Do I view my work as worship? Why or why not?
· How would my attitude change if I saw today’s tasks as service to Christ?
· What areas of my work have I not yet surrendered to God?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for calling me to serve You through real estate. Help me work today with a heart focused on You. Let my words, decisions, and attitude reflect Christ. Use me to bless every person I encounter. Amen.
