Scripture: “Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one who is crooked in his ways.” — Proverbs 28:6
Devotional
Convenience often presents itself as efficiency. It suggests shortcuts, simplified explanations, or overlooked details that save time in the moment. Yet convenience can quietly compete with honesty.
In accounting, even small compromises can lead to larger consequences. Choosing honesty may take more time, require more effort, or involve difficult conversations. But it preserves integrity and protects trust.
Scripture consistently elevates integrity above gain or ease. Honesty is not just about avoiding wrongdoing—it is about actively pursuing truth, even when it is inconvenient.
Choosing honesty strengthens your character. It aligns your work with God’s truth and reinforces your role as a trustworthy steward.
Convenience may offer immediate relief, but integrity provides lasting peace.
Today, when faced with the choice between what is easy and what is right, choose honesty.
Reflection Questions:
Where are you most tempted to choose convenience over honesty?
What helps you stay committed to truth in those moments?
Prayer
God, help me choose honesty in every situation. Strengthen my commitment to truth, even when it is difficult. Amen.
