The legal profession rewards confidence. You are trained to think critically, advocate persuasively, and defend your position with conviction. These skills are valuable—but they can also quietly feed pride if left unchecked.
Pride often appears subtly. It may show up in the need to always be right, resistance to feedback, impatience with others, or dependence on your own ability rather than God’s guidance.
Humility, by contrast, creates space for growth, wisdom, and healthy relationships. Humble attorneys listen carefully. They remain teachable. They recognize that expertise does not eliminate the need for grace and wisdom.
Jesus modeled humility perfectly. Though He possessed all authority, He served others with compassion and patience. His example reminds you that strength and humility can exist together.
Humility does not weaken your effectiveness—it strengthens it. It allows you to lead with wisdom rather than ego and to influence others with integrity rather than intimidation.
The more successful you become, the more important humility becomes.

Lord, guard my heart from pride. Teach me to walk in humility and depend on You above my own abilities. Amen.
