Scripture: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
Devotional
The financial world can be transactional—driven by accounts, assets, and acquisitions. But the Gospel calls you to a different posture. Clients are not portfolios. They are people—image-bearers navigating hopes, fears, and futures. As a Christian advisor, you’re called to carry more than numbers. You’re invited to carry burdens.
That doesn’t mean becoming a counselor or taking on inappropriate emotional weight. It means approaching each relationship with compassion. Listening with care. Asking about life transitions. Acknowledging grief or uncertainty. Pausing to pray, if invited.
When you see your client as someone loved by God—not just served by your firm—you shift from transactional to transformational impact. You become a safe, trustworthy presence in an industry often marked by pressure and performance.
Reflection Questions:
How might you more intentionally honor the dignity and story of each client?
What would it look like to carry a client’s burden in a Christlike way this week?
Are there rhythms in your practice that reinforce relational depth over efficiency?
Prayer
Lord, help me see every client as someone You created and love. Give me compassion to listen well, discernment to respond wisely, and grace to serve with humility and care.
