Courage to Say “No” [Residential Broker #61]

Courage to Say “No” [Residential Broker #61]

Scripture: “The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” — Proverbs 29:25 (ESV)

Devotional

In real estate, you will face moments when you must say “no”—no to unethical requests, no to unfair terms, no to clients who pressure you to compromise, and sometimes even no to business opportunities that violate your values or overload your schedule.

Saying “no” requires courage. It means risking disappointment, pushback, or even lost business. But Scripture warns that fear of people traps us. When we let people’s expectations dictate our decisions, we become reactive instead of led by conviction.

Courage to say “no” comes from trusting the Lord more than human approval. It means believing God is your provider, not that client or transaction. It means trusting that obedience opens better doors than compromise ever could. Every time you say “no” for the sake of righteousness, you strengthen your spiritual backbone.

Remember: a “no” spoken in integrity is often a “yes” to God’s protection, peace, and provision.

Reflection Questions:

·       Where do I struggle with people-pleasing in my work?

·       Is there a “no” God is calling me to say for the sake of integrity?

·       How can I practice courage rooted in trust today?

Prayer

Lord, help me trust You more than the approval of others. Give me courage to say no when needed and strength to choose integrity over fear. Amen.
