Scripture: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
Devotional
There will be moments in your legal career when doing what is right is not easy. You may face pressure from clients, firms, opposing counsel, or even the culture of the profession itself to compromise your values.
Courage in the legal field often looks quiet but costly. It may mean refusing to pursue a misleading argument, declining a case that conflicts with your convictions, or standing firm when others expect you to bend. These decisions are rarely convenient—but they are deeply significant.
Biblical courage is not the absence of fear; it is obedience in the presence of it. God does not call you to navigate these moments alone. He promises His presence, His strength, and His guidance.
When you choose courage rooted in faith, you become a witness to something greater than professional ambition. You demonstrate that your ultimate allegiance is not to outcomes or approval, but to God.
Reflection Questions:
• Where am I currently facing pressure to compromise?
• What would courage look like in that situation?
Action Step: Identify one situation where you need to take a stand and commit to responding with conviction and clarity.
Prayer
God, give me courage to stand firm in what is right. Help me trust You more than I fear the consequences. Amen.
