Creating Value, Not Just Profit [Real Estate Dev #69]

Creating Value, Not Just Profit [Real Estate Dev #69]

Scripture: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

Devotional

Profit is a necessary part of development—but it is not the ultimate purpose. As a Christian developer, your calling goes beyond financial return to creating real value for others.

Value is measured in impact:

  • Does this project serve the community?

  • Does it improve people’s lives?

  • Does it reflect stewardship and care?

When profit becomes the sole focus, it can lead to decisions that compromise long-term value. But when service becomes the focus, profit often follows in a healthier and more sustainable way.

God has entrusted you with resources, influence, and opportunity—not just to build wealth, but to bless others. Your developments can become places of connection, growth, and flourishing.

You are not just building for return—you are building for impact.

Reflection Questions:

  • Am I prioritizing profit over purpose in any area of my work?

  • How does my current project create value for others?

  • What adjustments could increase the positive impact of my work?

Prayer

God, help me focus on creating value that serves others. Guide my decisions so that my work reflects Your heart and brings lasting impact. Amen.
