Scripture: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23 (ESV)
Devotional:
Commercial real estate may feel like a world driven by numbers, deals, and deadlines, but Scripture reminds us that God plants His people in every sphere of society with intentionality. You are not in brokerage by coincidence. You are placed here by design. The clients you serve, the properties you evaluate, the investors you advise—each interaction is an opportunity to reflect Christ to people who may never step inside a church.
As a broker, you occupy a unique intersection of land, economics, leadership, and community impact. The work is demanding and fast-paced, but when you see it as a calling instead of a career, everything changes. Your spreadsheets become worship. Your negotiations become ministry. Your market knowledge becomes stewardship.
Today, remember this: God does not call you to be spiritual in church and secular in the office. He calls you to be whole. Faithful. Present. Your work is part of His Kingdom story, and your excellence honors Him.
Reflection Questions:
· Do I see my brokerage work as calling or as just business?
· Where might God be positioning me for influence that I haven’t yet recognized?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for calling me into this profession. Help me approach my work with a heart aligned to You. Let today’s conversations and responsibilities become opportunities to honor You and serve others well. Amen.
This devotional is intended to help you integrate your faith into your daily work and calling. It is not a substitute for personal time with God in Scripture, prayer, and worship, which are essential for knowing Christ, loving Him deeply, and becoming more like Him.
