Scripture: “Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.” — Proverbs 16:24 (ESV)
Devotional
Clients are more than decision-makers; they are people with burdens, pressures, and fears. Your words can either add weight or lift it. Gracious words—encouraging, affirming, and kind—bring sweetness and health to weary souls.
Encouraging a client might mean:
• Affirming their thoughtful questions or diligence.
• Acknowledging the pressure they’re under.
• Thanking them sincerely for their time, trust, or partnership.
• Letting them know you’re praying for wisdom in their decision (when appropriate and welcomed).
Encouragement is not flattery; it is truthful affirmation that builds others up. It transforms your role from “just a salesperson” to a source of support and refreshment. In a world full of criticism and demand, a Christlike encourager is memorable.
You’re not only sent to close deals—you’re sent to bless people.
Reflection Questions:
· Do my clients experience me primarily as a pressure source or as an encourager?
· Who is one client I can intentionally encourage today?
· How can I weave truthful, gracious words into my normal communication?
Prayer
Lord, use my words to refresh others. Help me speak encouragement that strengthens and blesses my clients. Let my conversations leave people more hopeful, not more burdened. Amen.
