"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act." Psalm 37:5.
Devotional
Tomorrow will bring new opportunities, new responsibilities, and probably a few unexpected challenges.
You may already be thinking about meetings, deadlines, projects, conversations, decisions, or situations that concern you. It is natural to begin planning for the week ahead.
But before you make your plans, pause.
Open your hands before God.
Open hands symbolize a surrendered heart. You cannot receive God's direction while tightly gripping your own agenda. Nor can you experience His peace while trying to control every outcome.
God calls you to prepare diligently, but He never asks you to carry tomorrow's burdens today.
When you commit your week to Him, you acknowledge that every meeting, every conversation, every success, every disappointment, and every opportunity already rests within His sovereign care.
That doesn't eliminate uncertainty, but it changes how you face it.
Instead of asking, "How will I handle everything this week?" ask, "Lord, how will You lead me today?"
Faith grows one day at a time.
As this day of rest comes to a close, surrender the coming week to the Lord. Trust that the God who has faithfully guided you in the past will continue to direct your steps tomorrow.
Walk into Monday with confidence—not because you know what the week will bring, but because you know the One who goes before you.
Reflection Questions
What concerns about this coming week am I holding too tightly?
What would it look like to surrender those concerns to God today?
How has God demonstrated His faithfulness in previous uncertain seasons?
What practical step can I take this week to depend more intentionally on God?
Action Step
Before ending today, write down your three greatest concerns about the coming week. Pray over each one individually, intentionally placing them into God's hands. Begin tomorrow by reviewing the list and reminding yourself that these concerns belong to Him before they belong to you.
Prayer
Lord, I commit this coming week to You. I surrender my plans, my concerns, my responsibilities, and my expectations into Your hands. Lead me where You want me to go, give me wisdom for every decision, and help me trust You one step at a time. May I begin this week resting in Your faithfulness rather than relying on my own strength. Thank You for always going before me. Amen.
