The quality of many outcomes is often decided before you walk into the room. In commercial real estate, important moments hinge on meetings—pitch presentations, lease negotiations, investor updates, city hearings. Showing up unprepared communicates more than busy-ness; it can signal carelessness.
As a Christian broker, preparation is part of your worship. When you review documents beforehand, anticipate questions, test your tech, confirm directions, and pray over the agenda, you are honoring God and serving people. You’re saying, “This matters—to you, and to Him.”
Preparation isn’t about perfection; it’s about stewardship. You can’t control how others will respond, but you can control how well you’ve prepared. A prepared heart is less anxious and more attentive. A prepared mind listens better and responds more thoughtfully. A prepared spirit is open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance in the moment.
Before your next important meeting, imagine Jesus sitting in the room—not to intimidate you, but to partner with you. How would that change your preparation?
