Scripture: “The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer…” — Proverbs 15:28 (ESV)
Devotional
Your clients rely on you not only for opportunities, but for preparation. A tenant facing a lease negotiation often doesn’t know what to expect. A first-time investor needs someone to walk them through underwriting assumptions. A landlord evaluating proposals needs clarity on the terms.
Excellence in preparation means taking time to educate your clients, anticipate their questions, and equip them to make wise decisions. It means sending documents ahead of meetings, summarizing key issues, and setting realistic expectations about timelines, challenges, and next steps.
When clients are prepared, they feel empowered instead of overwhelmed. They make decisions confidently rather than fearfully. And they learn to trust you as a thoughtful advisor—not just a transaction handler.
Preparing people well is a form of loving your neighbor. It honors God because it puts others first.
Reflection Questions:
· Do I prepare my clients proactively or simply respond reactively?
· What processes can I improve to help clients feel more supported and informed?
Prayer
Lord, help me prepare my clients with diligence and care. Give me insight to see what they need before they ask and wisdom to guide them clearly. Amen.
