Scripture
“An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” — Proverbs 18:15 (ESV)
Devotional
Clients assume you know your properties. But going beyond the basics—truly knowing the assets you represent—is an act of service. It means walking the site thoroughly, learning the surrounding area, understanding zoning, access, visibility, demographics, comparable properties, and potential challenges.
When you possess deep property knowledge, you can answer questions with confidence, anticipate concerns, and highlight opportunities others miss. You save clients time and protect them from surprises. You demonstrate that their listing or requirement is not just one more file on your desk but a stewardship you take seriously.
For the Christian broker, knowledge is not for ego; it’s for service. Gathering information is a way of loving your neighbor. The more you know, the better you can guide.
Consider your current assignments: if a client asked, “What do I not know that I should?”—would you be ready to answer? Let that question motivate deeper learning.
Reflection Questions
Are there any properties or requirements I’m handling where my knowledge is surface-level?
What additional research or site work can I do this week to better serve my clients?
Prayer
Father, give me a hunger for the knowledge I need to serve well. Help me pursue understanding—not for pride, but to guide my clients with wisdom and care. Amen.
