Excellence That Endures Beyond the Closing [Commercial Broker #130]
Scripture
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” — Hebrews 10:24 (ESV)
Devotional
The closing table is not the end of your opportunity to serve; it’s often the beginning of your influence. After documents are signed and funds are wired, clients step into a new reality—build-out, move-in, operations, integration. How you show up after closing says a lot about your heart.
A quick check-in, a congratulatory note, a “How’s it going now that you’re in?” call—these small touches communicate that they matter beyond the commission. If issues arise, your willingness to assist or at least help them think through options continues to reflect Christ.
Enduring excellence stirs others toward “love and good works” because it models love and good works. It leaves a lasting, Kingdom-shaped impression that can open doors for deeper conversations later.
You don’t just want to be remembered as the broker who got the deal done. By God’s grace, you can be remembered as the person who genuinely cared.
Reflection Questions
Do I typically disappear after closing, or do I maintain a rhythm of post-closing care?
Which past client could I reach out to this week simply to check in and encourage?
Prayer
Lord, help my service extend beyond the closing table. Give me a heart to follow up, encourage, and care in ways that honor You and bless those You’ve allowed me to serve. Amen.
