Scripture: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23
Devotional
In the competitive world of financial services, excellence is expected. Clients rely on your knowledge, strategy, and follow-through. But as a Christian advisor, excellence is not just about meeting benchmarks—it’s about honoring God through your work.
When you serve wholeheartedly, you reflect the character of Christ. When you pursue diligence, accuracy, and promptness—not just for gain but for worship—you transform routine into ministry. This verse from Colossians reframes even your most ordinary tasks: emails, reports, compliance reviews. Each is an opportunity to work “as unto the Lord.”
Excellence also builds trust. It honors clients. It resists shortcuts. It withstands scrutiny. But most importantly, it gives glory to the One who called you. Let your standard be higher than industry norms—because you’re working for the King.
Reflection Questions:
What does it mean to pursue excellence as an act of worship in your practice?
Are there areas where you’ve been tempted to settle for “good enough” instead of giving your best?
How might greater diligence point clients toward Christ?
Prayer
Lord, let excellence mark every part of my work—not for applause, but for Your glory. Help me reflect Your character in how I serve, lead, and deliver.
