Faith in the Daily Routine [Banker #11]

Scripture: “And whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)

Devotional

Much of your work in banking is routine—emails, approvals, documentation, meetings, compliance checks. These tasks may not feel spiritual, meaningful, or impactful. They can feel repetitive, even mundane.

But God is not only present in the extraordinary—He is present in the ordinary.

Your daily routine is not outside of God’s purpose; it is one of the primary places where your faith is lived out. The consistency of your work, your attitude in repetition, and your faithfulness in the small tasks all reflect your devotion to Him.

It’s easy to believe that only major decisions or high-impact moments matter. But in God’s Kingdom, the everyday moments are where character is formed. It’s where discipline is built. It’s where your witness is quietly established.

The way you respond to a routine request, the patience you show in repetitive tasks, the diligence you bring to ordinary responsibilities—these are all opportunities to honor God.

Faithfulness is not proven in occasional moments of significance, but in consistent obedience over time.

Today, don’t overlook the routine. God is at work in it.

Reflection Questions:

• How do I typically view routine tasks in my work?

• Where might I be overlooking opportunities to honor God in the ordinary?

• How can I approach today’s responsibilities with greater intentionality?

Action Step: Choose one routine task today and intentionally complete it with gratitude and focus as an act of worship.

Prayer

Lord, help me to see You in the everyday moments. Teach me to be faithful in the routine and to honor You in all that I do. Amen.
