Faithfulness in Serving Difficult People [Real Estate Dev #75]

Faithfulness in Serving Difficult People [Real Estate Dev #75]

Scripture: “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.” — Romans 12:18 (ESV)

Devotional

Not every interaction in development is easy. Difficult personalities, conflicting interests, and high-pressure situations can strain relationships.

Romans 12:18 acknowledges this reality: peace is not always fully possible—but you are responsible for your part.

Serving difficult people tests your character. It reveals whether your service is conditional or Christ-centered.

You may encounter:

  • A demanding client

  • An uncooperative partner

  • A frustrated community member

In these moments, your response matters more than their behavior.

Serving difficult people requires:

  • Patience instead of irritation

  • Grace instead of defensiveness

  • Boundaries without bitterness

Jesus served people who misunderstood Him, opposed Him, and ultimately rejected Him. Yet He remained faithful, loving, and consistent.

You are called to reflect that same posture. You cannot control others—but you can control your response.

Faithfulness in difficult relationships is one of the clearest demonstrations of Christ in your work.

Reflection Questions:

  • Who do I find most difficult to work with right now?

  • How have I been responding to that person?

  • What would it look like to reflect Christ in this relationship?

Prayer

Lord, help me respond with grace, even in difficult relationships. Give me patience, wisdom, and strength to reflect Your love in every interaction. Amen.
