Finding God’s Purpose in Slow Seasons [Sales Professional #79]

Scripture: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1 (ESV)

Devotional

Slow seasons in sales can feel like wasted time—fewer calls, fewer leads, fewer deals. You may be tempted to panic, disengage, or assume you’ve lost your edge. But God often does deep work in you during seasons where the external results are quiet.

Slow seasons can be:

• A time to sharpen skills and deepen product knowledge.

• A time to reconnect with existing clients and strengthen relationships.

• A time to pray more intentionally and seek God’s direction.

• A time to rest, reflect, and realign your priorities.

Ecclesiastes reminds you that God works through seasons. He is just as present and purposeful in winter as in harvest. Rather than despising the slow period, ask Him what He wants to form in you through it.

No season is wasted when it is surrendered to God.

Reflection Questions:

·       How do I usually react to slow seasons—spiritually and emotionally?

·       What opportunities for growth exist right now that I might be overlooking?

·       How can I intentionally invite God into this particular season?

Prayer

Father, help me see Your purpose in this slow season. Show me how to grow, prepare, and realign my heart. Use this time to deepen my dependence on You and shape me for what’s ahead. Amen.
