Finding Strength in God’s Approval

Scripture: “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10)

Reflection:

Rejection often stings because we long for approval—from employers, friends, family, or society. Yet, Galatians 1:10 reminds us that as followers of Christ, our ultimate goal is to please God, not people. His approval is the only one that truly matters.

God’s love for us is unchanging and unconditional. While human approval can be fickle and fleeting, His acceptance is eternal. When we anchor our identity in His love, rejection loses its power to define or diminish us.

Living for God’s approval requires a shift in focus. It means seeking His will and purpose above all else, trusting that His opinion outweighs any human judgment. This perspective frees us from the need to prove ourselves to others.

When we rest in God’s approval, we find strength and confidence to face rejection with grace. His affirmation gives us the courage to continue pursuing His calling, even when others don’t recognize our worth or potential.

Application Question / Challenge:

Where are you seeking human approval instead of God’s? Reflect on how you can focus on His affirmation in your work and relationships.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for loving me unconditionally and for reminding me that Your approval is all I need. Help me to live for You alone, finding strength and confidence in Your affirmation. Amen.
