Scripture: “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce.” — Proverbs 3:9 (ESV)
Devotional
Real estate development often operates under a mindset of scarcity—finite land, limited capital, fierce competition. In such an environment, generosity can feel risky or even irresponsible. But Scripture calls us to a different economy—one rooted not in fear, but in trust. Proverbs 3:9 instructs us to honor the Lord with our wealth, giving Him the first and best, not what’s left over.
Generosity is not just about writing checks. It’s about how you approach time, opportunity, credit, and relationships. A generous developer honors God by paying fairly, partnering equitably, blessing others with resources, and supporting causes that reflect the Kingdom. Generosity begins when you stop asking, “What can I spare?” and start asking, “What can I sow?”
God doesn’t promise that generosity will always be repaid financially—but He does promise that it honors Him and forms us. It breaks the grip of greed and loosens our fear of the future. It reminds us that everything we have has been entrusted to us, not earned by us alone. When you give freely, you demonstrate confidence in God's provision and a heart shaped by His character.
Let generosity become a marker of your business, your reputation, and your leadership. In a culture of scarcity, it’s one of the most powerful testimonies you can offer.
Reflection Questions:
How am I currently honoring God with what He’s given me?
Where might fear or control be limiting my generosity?
What would it look like to sow generously this week?
Prayer
God, thank You for entrusting me with resources. Teach me to honor You with the first and best—not the leftovers. Shape me into a generous leader who reflects Your heart. Amen.
