Generosity That Glorifies God [Financial Advisors #6]

Scripture: “Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.” — 1 Timothy 6:18

Devotional

As a financial advisor, you regularly help clients allocate wealth—but one of the greatest Kingdom contributions you can make is to help them understand the purpose of wealth. Scripture speaks not just of accumulation, but of generosity—a posture of open hands that reflects the heart of God.

Generosity isn’t just about charitable giving. It’s a mindset, a lifestyle, and an act of worship. When you encourage clients to give, to plan with others in mind, or to support ministries they love, you are helping them participate in something eternal.

Some will give joyfully. Others may wrestle with fear or scarcity. Your role is not to coerce, but to guide—to plant seeds of eternal perspective, to affirm biblical generosity as both wise and worshipful, and to celebrate when your clients take faithful steps.

In a culture that preaches “get more,” you have the chance to point toward “give more”—and glorify God in the process.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Do you intentionally celebrate and encourage generosity in your planning conversations?

  2. How has your own view of giving evolved as a believer and advisor?

  3. In what ways can you gently invite clients into a more purposeful generosity?

Prayer

Father, help me to live and lead with generosity. May my counsel reflect Your heart to give freely, bless others, and build treasures in heaven—not just on earth.

This devotional is intended to help you integrate your faith into your daily work and calling. It is not a substitute for personal time with God in Scripture, prayer, and worship, which are essential for knowing Christ, loving Him deeply, and becoming more like Him.
