God’s Grace in Your Workplace Relationships [TDPOW #75]

Listen to devotional here.

Scripture: Ephesians 4:2 — “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love…”

Devotional

Working with people means working with different personalities, backgrounds, strengths, and weaknesses. Misunderstandings happen. Annoyances build. Some coworkers are easy to love; others require supernatural help. Yet God calls you to “bear with one another in love.”

This doesn’t mean tolerating sin or ignoring serious issues, but it does mean extending grace—remembering that others are works in progress, just as you are. Humility keeps you from assuming you’re always right. Gentleness shapes how you speak truth. Patience gives room for others to grow. Love seeks their good, not just your comfort.

Your workplace relationships are one of the primary places where the gospel can be displayed. When you respond with humility instead of pride, gentleness instead of harshness, patience instead of irritation, and love instead of indifference, you reflect the heart of Christ.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Who at work is hardest for you to “bear with in love” right now?

  2. How might humility, gentleness, and patience change your interactions with that person?

  3. What step can you take today to move toward peace rather than distance?

Prayer

Lord, You have been so patient and gentle with me. Help me show that same grace to others at work. Teach me to bear with them in love, to seek their good, and to reflect Christ in my relationships. Amen.
