Scripture: Lamentations 3:22–23 — “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning…”
Devotional
Every workday brings reminders of your limitations—you forget things, miss details, mishandle conversations, or simply run out of energy. It’s easy to grow discouraged and define yourself by your weaknesses. But God’s mercies meet you right there.
His mercies are new every morning—not just for “spiritual” failures, but for your shortcomings at work too. He knows your frame, remembers that you are dust, and supplies grace for each day’s demands. That doesn’t excuse carelessness; it frees you from crippling shame so you can learn and grow.
Instead of replaying yesterday’s failures on a loop, you can wake up to fresh mercy. You can confess, receive forgiveness, make things right where possible, and move forward in His strength. Your weaknesses become opportunities to experience His compassion.
Reflection Questions:
What recent work mistakes or weaknesses are you still beating yourself up over?
Have you brought those honestly to God and received His fresh mercy?
How could remembering “new mercies” change the way you start your workday?
Prayer
Father, thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. I bring You my weaknesses, failures, and limitations. Cover them with Your grace, teach me through them, and help me walk into today’s work with hope and humility. Amen.
