Scripture: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23 (ESV)
Devotional
Burnout doesn’t happen all at once—it builds over time. Long hours, emotional strain, and constant pressure can slowly wear down your heart.
Left unchecked, burnout can lead to frustration, detachment, and even loss of compassion.
That’s why Scripture calls you to guard your heart.
This means paying attention to your emotional and spiritual health. It means recognizing when you are overwhelmed and taking intentional steps to rest, reset, and reconnect with God.
You cannot pour out indefinitely without being filled.
Guarding your heart also means being aware of what influences you—your thoughts, your environment, and your responses. It means choosing to return to God regularly, allowing Him to restore what has been drained.
You are not just a caregiver—you are someone who needs care.
Protect your heart so you can continue to serve well.
