Guarding Your Heart in Success [Financial Advisor #61]

Guarding Your Heart in Success [Financial Advisor #61]

Scripture: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23

Devotional

Success can be more spiritually dangerous than struggle.

When your business is growing, clients are increasing, and results are strong, it’s easy to let your guard down. Pride can quietly take root. Dependence on God can slowly be replaced by confidence in yourself. What once drove you to prayer can begin to feel like your own accomplishment.

That’s why Scripture calls you to guard your heart above all else.

Your heart is the source of your motivations, decisions, and attitudes. If it drifts, everything else follows. Success is not the problem—forgetting God in success is.

Stay anchored. Continue the disciplines that shaped you in earlier seasons. Give God credit. Stay humble. Remain teachable.

The goal is not just to achieve success—but to remain faithful within it.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How has success impacted your dependence on God?

  2. Are there subtle signs of pride or self-reliance in your life?

  3. What habits can help you stay spiritually grounded during strong seasons?

Prayer

Lord, guard my heart in success. Keep me humble, dependent, and anchored in You, no matter what results I experience.
